Y llegamos a cumplir 15 años de existencia. Algunos de los músicos que forman parte de este nuevo Jazzing no habían ni nacido cuando se inició el proyecto por el que han pasado más de 60 músicos en edades comprendidas entre los 6 años y los 21. Ningún músico de los que formaban parte de la primera grabación, el jazzing 1 del año 2009, forma parte de la actual Sant Andreu Jazz Band (aunque en este nuevo trabajo, representación del año 2020, podemos encontrar a dos músicos que sí que estaban presentes aquel año: las hermanas Motis, que en este caso figuran como invitadas especiales).
Todos estos años quedan reflejados por un lado en 21 CD (11 jazzings, algunos de ellos con varios volúmenes) así como en los 18 “Joan Chamorro presenta” y en la película de Ramon Tort, “A film about kids and music”, del año 2011.
En el texto del Jazzing 1 yo hablaba de un sueño convertido en realidad. ¿Qué puedo decir ahora, unos cuantos años después? Que ese sueño sigue manteniéndose. Que sigue habiendo, por mi parte, sino más, la misma ilusión que en los inicios. Que los jóvenes van saliendo, pero la orquesta se queda y sigue siendo una motivación y fuente de aprendizaje e inspiración para los que van entrando y también para otros muchos músicos que, al ver nuestro trabajo, se motivan y trabajan en la misma línea que nosotros.
Solo puedo decir que gracias, una vez más, por tener la oportunidad de vivir este sueño, y de compartirlo con tanta gente en todo el mundo. Miles de seguidores conocen los nombres de todos y cada uno de los miembros que están o han estado en la orquesta y una vez la dejan, siguen sus carreras individuales. Esos seguidores conocen nuestro extenso repertorio, tienen todos nuestros discos, conocen las diferentes versiones de las canciones, conocen los detalles, los pormenores. Son seguidores de nuestra historia, una historia que después de 15 años ha pasado a ser la historia de miles de personas.
La Sant Andreu Jazz Band, un sueño hecho realidad y que se basa en que realmente lo importante es el presente, el camino, y no la meta.

And we have reached 15 years of existence. Some of the musicians who are part of this new Jazzing were not even born when the project, with more than 60 musicians between the ages of 6 and 21 years old, was started. None of the musicians who were part of the first recording, Jazzing 1 of 2009, is part of the current Sant Andreu Jazz Band (although in this new work, representation of the year 2020, we can find two musicians who were present that year: the Motis sisters, who in this case appear as special guests).
All these years are reflected on the one hand in 21 cd's (11 jazzings, some of them with several volumes) as well as in the 18 Joan Chamorro presents and in Ramon Tort's film A film about kids and music, from 2011.
In the text of Jazzing 1 I spoke of a dream come true. What can I say now, a few years later? That this dream is still alive. That there is still, on my part, if not more, the same illusion as in the beginning. That young people are leaving, but the orchestra remains and continues to be a motivation and a source of learning and inspiration for those who are entering and also for many other musicians who, seeing our work, are motivated and work in the same line as we do.
I can only say thank you, once again, for having the opportunity to live this dream, and to share it with so many people around the world. Thousands of fans know the names of each and every one of the members who are or have been in the orchestra and, once they leave, follow their individual careers. Those followers know our extensive repertoire, they have all our records, they know the different versions of the songs, they know the details, the ins and outs. They are followers of our history, a history that after 15 years has become the history of thousands of people.
The Sant Andreu Jazz Band, a dream come true and based on the fact that what is really important is the present, the path, and not the goal.
